Carver neighborhood

Richmond, Virginia is home to a vast and rich history, which can be explored through its countless neighborhoods and architectural styles. Each one tells a story of a growing city. The house featured here is one of Carver’s older houses, showcasing in part the Italianate style house characteristics that are popular for the carver neighborhood.

Although Carver was originally settled by German and Jewish tradesmen, it soon became a strong African American community. Today, Carver is both a thriving residential area and sees a lot of VCU student housing.
